Success Stories: EB1A Approval for a Research Fellow in the field of Neuroscience and Biology
Client’s Testimonial:
I will definitely refer my friends to you. It was a pleasant experience working with you and I appreciate that. Thanks for all your work and helpful advises.
On September 25th, 2013 we received another EB1-A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) Approval for a Research Fellow in the field of Neuroscience and Biology (Approval Notice)
General Field: Neuroscience and Biology
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Research Fellow
National Origin: China
Service Center: Nebraska Service Center (NSC)
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Ohio
Approval Notice Date: September 25, 2013
Processing Time: 8 ½ months (15 days after responding to RFE)
Case Summary:
The client in this case was a research fellow from China in the field of neuroscience and biology. Her work had focused primarily on interactions between glia cells and axons during nervous system development, with a goal towards better understanding the underlying mechanisms of many diseases and cancers. Her work had resulted in at least 6 peer-reviewed scholarly publications and 10 conference presentations appearing in leading journals and international conference proceedings. At the time that her case was filed, her publications had accumulated at least 86 citations, clearly demonstrating that she had influenced her field and garnered international acclaim. In addition, various experts and editors had consistently requested her expertise in service as a peer reviewer for journals and conferences related to the areas of neuroscience and biology. Of her accomplishments, one of her independent recommenders remarked, “[Client’s] work is likely to be used by doctors to treat nervous system-related diseases that attack developing nervous systems. This research is directly informing doctors of new discoveries of nervous system functioning that enables them to better treat their patients. As someone who researches on neural diseases, I am very familiar with what literature scientists and doctors treating these diseases use, and I know for a fact that [client’s] research is clinically relevant and has shed light on new treatments for glia diseases.” It was our goal to prove that our client qualified for classification as an Alien of Extraordinary Ability given that she sought to remain in the United States to continue work in the area of neuroscience and biology, and that her continued research would substantially and prospectively benefit the United States. With the proof and documentation that we provided, her case was approved in 8 ½ months.
