Success Stories: Our Team of Experts Supported a Research and Development Engineer II from China Obtain NIW Approval, Without RFE Issuance
Client’s Testimonial:
“Thank you very much for your great help!”
On January 11th, 2022, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Research and Development Engineer II in the Field of Industrial Engineering (Approval Notice).
General Field: Industrial Engineering
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Research and Development Engineer II
Country of Origin: China
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Pennsylvania
Approval Notice Date: January 11th, 2022
Processing Time: 9 months
Case Summary:
“In 2018, the National Bureau of Economic Research highlighted the importance of artificial intelligence in the future of the United States economy and discussed the historical evidence that shows automation fosters productivity growth. One key use of machine learning is through additive manufacturing techniques, which provide tremendous benefits to the United States industrial, medical, and trade sectors. [Client] has contributed to these sectors through his research into additive manufacturing. Namely, his analysis of machine learning techniques provided an excellent deep learning model that more reliably controls and guides manufacturing efficiency. In sum, his meaningful contributions to the field of industrial engineering are clearly of substantial benefit to the economic, industrial, and technological interests of the United States.”
This excerpt has been taken from one of the four submitted letters of support provided by our client, an R&D engineer II in the field of industrial engineering from China. As an expert in the field, his offered research endeavor is to develop state-of-the-art algorithms to enhance advanced manufacturing processes by increasing the intelligence, efficiency, and robustness of industrial systems. When he approached us in April of 2021, he wanted us to assist him to build an NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition representing him. Thus, we gathered our adept team to evaluate his work thoroughly. After a vigilant run-through of his research background, we quickly learned that his research is of great importance because it produces significant advancements in 3D printing technology, and such research is of immense economic value.
In praise of his work, we discussed that it has been granted funding by the National Science Foundation (NSF). This funding is reserved solely for research directed at advancing the national interest, including research that advances the scientific community within the United States.
Besides, his research has resulted in 6 peer-reviewed journal articles (3 of them first-authored) and 6 peer-reviewed conference articles (4 of them first-authored). Moreover, these papers have been published in the top journals in his chosen field, reflecting his peers’ recognition of the value of this research. Not only has he completed and published the results of his research in the field, but his work has also influenced other experts in the field, accumulating a total of 123 citations according to the Google Scholar tool. Moreover, he has completed 36 reviews to date. Considering that only the most favorable researchers in the field are invited to assess the work of their peers, specifically in notable journals and conferences, it is evident that our client is seen as very knowledgeable in the field and an expert in topics related to his proposed endeavor.
We are glad that with our compelling NIW petition packet, our client was very well able to achieve the NIW petition approval that too without an RFE (request for additional evidence). We, therefore, wish him all the best in this milestone.
