Case Summary:
“[The client’s] work in sustainable rural planning has groundbreaking implications for the improvement of health and wellbeing in these communities as existing needs are met through tailored design strategies. [The client] has identified many of the central restorative and destructive impacts on those living in rural and urban communities in order to mitigate damages and improve mental and physical well-being in specific areas, particularly areas in which inappropriate strategies have been errantly applied. [The client’s] work is therefore central to decreasing the disparities of access and quality of life that run rampant in rural communities around the world.”
“[The client’s] work has significant applications in the United States, as it is designed, in part, to improve the progression of urban sprawl in ways that will improve American life. Urban sprawl increases pollution, infrastructural costs, and inequality, and will continue to be exacerbated as the U.S. population increasingly moves to urban areas. [The client’s] provision of a set of modern standards that guide urban design and human interaction within communities, as well as his skills in creating sustainable, mentally navigable, and legibly designed areas will vastly improve the quality of life of citizens throughout the United States with more conscientious urban and community design.”
These are two small passages selected from letters of recommendation written for one of our NIW (National Interest Waiver) clients hailing from Iran. He was a Ph.D. in architectural and structural design and had been working in the area of urban design for the past 18 years. As an expert in the field of urban design, his proposed endeavor was to work on designing and testing environmentally sustainable and health-promoting urban and rural environments that target increased quality of life through the use of neurotechnology and emerging tech. It was due to his work on designing environmentally sustainable and health-promoting urban and rural environments that it was considered of great substantial merit and national importance. Among other applications, his research was also relevant to improving mental health outcomes and resolving the economic and social disparity between urban and rural environments, and modernizing these environments to take full advantage of the digital tools and landscape.
On the other hand, he has completed at least 19 reviews to date for prestigious magazines and his research has resulted in 9 peer-reviewed journal articles (3 of them first-authored), 20 conference papers, and 7 books, which have been cited a total of 45 times according to Google Scholar, thereby demonstrating that these publications are widely recognized and relied upon in the field of urban design.
These evidence pieces helped his National Interest Waiver (NIW) case immensely and the use of these facts made his adjudication quicker by proving his significance for the U.S. It was also speeded up by the 4 letters of support produced by our client which we attached to his petition. We are glad to have worked with him and helped him in the process. We wish him all the very best in his future endeavors.
