Success Stories: Our Team at NAILG Helps a Research Scientist from Taiwan Working in Meteorology Win NIW Approval Quickly without RFE
Client’s Testimonial:
“Thank you so much for all your professional help on my I-140 petition preparation, and most important of all…I am more than 100% satisfied with what you’ve offered, and definitely will recommend you whenever I got a chance.”
On April 6th, 2022, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Research Scientist in the Field of Meteorology (Approval Notice).
General Field: Meteorology
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Research Scientist
Country of Origin: Taiwan
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Oklahoma
Approval Notice Date: April 6th, 2022
Processing Time: 3 months, 15 days
Case Summary:
Our NIW (National Interest Waiver) client, hailing from Taiwan, was an expert in the field of meteorology. Since the NIW waives permanent job offers and labor certification for those talented few who are valuable to the United States because of their work, we showed that our client’s proposed endeavor was to continue developing brand-new and refined advanced data assimilation techniques using modern observational data (e.g., weather radar) for the national operational forecasting systems. He wanted to improve the accuracy of hazardous weather forecasts and reduce losses in life and property. This meant that his work was valuable for American lives and the economy as well.
So, while prepping his petition letter, we showed that he is enabling more robust weather prediction, including greater accuracy and longer lead time of extreme weather forecasts, thus enabling better preparation and fewer casualties from extreme weather events. And thus his research is of great importance because it is necessary for improving the prediction of severe storms and other weather events. This is why his work has been supported with funding from the U.S. Department of Commerce.
On the other hand, we were able to show that he has completed at least 5 reviews to date and has published two peer-reviewed journal articles (one of them first-authored), four conference abstracts, and a dissertation. These publications have also been cited a total of 39 times according to Google Scholar. All of these academic accomplishments along with his 10 long years of service to the field helped his adjudication immensely. Our case preparation also sped things up and we were able to get his NIW approval in just 3 months and 15 days. We are grateful to have worked with him and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
