Case Summary:
With a PhD in Petroleum Engineering and years of experience working in the same field, this Egyptian client of ours is certainly a force to be reckoned with. After North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG) filed an EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition on his behalf, the USCIS issued an approval in 5 months and 8 days. As his petition was approved after December 27th, 2016, it was adjudicated based on Matter of Dhanasar, the framework for assessing NIW eligibility.
In order to prove to the USCIS that our client’s research is in the nation’s interest, we detailed his work on improving the chemicals and techniques used in oil and natural gas recovery. We also established that his findings have directly benefited the United States’ oil and gas extraction efforts.
Further, we highlighted our client’s various academic achievements such as his citation count of 111 and his publication record of 26 peer-reviewed journal and conference articles. To strengthen the case, we asked our client to reach out to industry experts and enlist their support. In the end, we incorporated five signed recommendation letters that strongly advocated for the approval of our client’s EB-2 NIW petition. One such letter contained this statement: “This is an opportunity that must be granted to [Client], for the sake of nation and for his fellow researchers who rely upon him to help and inspire their work. The United States is still facing an energy crisis and needs every possible advantage in addressing it. Therefore, [he] must be allowed to proceed in his current endeavors.”
We are pleased that our rigorous efforts paved the way for NIW petition approval. We congratulate our client for completing this significant first step in the green card process, and we thank him for retaining our I-485 services.
