Case Summary:
We are pleased to share the approval of an I-140 National Interest Waiver (NIW) petition we filed on behalf of our client, a physical therapy researcher, whose case was approved through premium processing.
Our client holds a Ph.D. in physical therapy and has established himself as an expert in developing and applying biomechanical analysis techniques, including three-dimensional motion capture and electromyography, for individualized rehabilitation exercise protocols. His work focuses on improving recovery for patients with musculoskeletal and neurological impairments, with the ultimate goal of enhancing clinical efficiency, reducing healthcare costs, and improving patients’ quality of life.
To date, our client has authored 22 peer-reviewed journal articles (7 as first author) and 8 conference abstracts (6 as first author). His publications have already been cited 84 times by other researchers, showing that his findings are actively influencing the field. In addition, he has completed peer review for at least three scholarly papers, a recognition that reflects his status as a trusted expert in physical therapy research.
Our team also documented that his research has received significant support from major funding agencies, including the National Research Foundation of Korea, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and the Ministry of Science and ICT, underscoring both the quality and importance of his work.
To strengthen the petition, we submitted recommendation letters from two respected experts in the field. One recommender emphasized:
“[Client’s] skills in biomechanical analysis and muscle rehabilitation have allowed him to make exceptional contributions to this project.”
Together, this evidence demonstrated that our client is well-positioned to continue advancing rehabilitation science in ways that carry substantial merit and national importance. The USCIS agreed, approving the NIW petition and waiving the job offer and labor certification requirements.
This approval recognizes not only our client’s past achievements but also the national value of his ongoing and future research.
